Evening Primrose Oenothera biennis |
 |
|
As its name conveys, the Evening primrose blooms in the evening, and
its flowers close by noon the next day. for this reason, the Evening Primrose can
be very difficult to locate in the middle of the afternoon! But if you are on a
walk along a country road at sunset, you are very likely to spot this pretty
little plant. The flowers are soft and delicate, the roots edible, and the
seeds are an important source of food for many bird species.
