Mullein Verbascum thapsis

Mullein, when allowed to really take off, can be a truly spectacular plant, and it is easily recognized by its bright yellow spikes and its soft woolly leaves. Fisherman used to use mullein as chum to attract fish; they would dry the leaves and grind them into a powder which they would sprinkle on the water.
